I've been using Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred DVD. Anyone tried it. I've had it for a few years, but last time I tried it, But, after Mother's Day, we are going to get right on it. Last year we planted a bunch of flowers. Since we hadn't had a chance to "make plans", we spent the entire day outside as a family, working on our yard. And happy Mom too Casey took a day off on Friday and didn't tell me until. This year we will tackle just a few vegetables in containers and we'll learn a bit more. Keeping happy kids is just easier in the summer, I'm convinced. The kids and I are excited to plant some things. Here in Colorado, though, we can't plant til a bit later. Some worked and some didn't, so now we know. Just like every year, I am so thankful for the warm weather....

Indy officials still optimistic about 33-car field

IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard is an optimist when it comes to putting 33 cars in this year's Indianapolis 500. "We haven't had a race since 1947 that didn't have that many cars (33) and we have to do everything we can to make sure we get 33," Bernard told The Associated Press. There were similar questions in 2003, the last time the series changed cars, and it was a consistent question in the early days of the IndyCar-CART split back in the 1990s. Of course it wouldn't look good to break with tradition now, a season in which IndyCar officials have put a brand new car on the track and brought back turbocharged engines. The world becomes new as the birds dive for fish and the plovers play tag with the little waves, the fish compete for crabs and surfers push their way into the lineup in search of treats of their own. Even if I’m not surfing, I love the smells and the sounds and watching everything including pelicans, dolphins and other surfers glide over morning glass while the rest of the world is barely waking up or still dreaming about riding waves. Only one thing remains sadly constant ⎯ the trash littering the beach: everything from bottle caps and plastic bags to helium balloons line the sand or are trapped in stands of seaweed. I often think I should be out there, riding waves with them, but these days, morning is mostly walking, thinking, praying and looking amid the seaweed and the garbage.
