It is understood the man, driving his Nissan Pulsar north along the highway, was trying to overtake a B-double truck when he hit the oncoming diesel tanker, sparking a fire. The 43-year-old male tanker driver suffered serious injuries, including a laceration to the head, and was initially taken to Bendigo hospital.
